OnStage Blog Announces New Critics for Connecticut
OnStage Blog is thrilled to announce our new staff of theatre critics for Connecticut. The staff consists of Tara Kennedy, Noah Golden, Maegan Clearwood and John P. McCarthy.
Tara Kennedy has been promoted to Chief Connecticut Theatre Critic. She has been a contributing critic for OnStage Blog since 2015. In addition to her long history of performing on stage, Ms. Kennedy holds a BA in Art History from Northwestern University, an MLIS/CAS in Library Science/Preservation and Conservation Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MS in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven.
Noah Golden has been promoted to Associate Connecticut Theatre Critic. He has been a contributing critic for OnStage since 2015. Mr. Golden is a writer, video producer, actor and musician from Guilford, CT. A graduate of Quinnipiac University, Mr. Golden also manages OnStage Blog’s Social Media Content. Mr. Golden will primarily cover productions in the New Haven region.
John P. McCarthy has been promoted to Associate Connecticut Theatre Critic. Mr. McCarthy has been a contributing critic for OnStage Bog since 2016. He is a freelance writer and theater critic based in Westchester County, NY. His work has appeared in Daily Variety and Variety, Time Out New York, Boxoffice, and TV Guide. He has contributed theater reviews to The Journal News, the Gannett paper covering the Lower Hudson Valley; and from 1999-2010 he was editor and publisher of Cineman Syndicate, which provided newspapers and online outlets with movie reviews and entertainment features. John is a graduate of Georgetown University. Mr. McCarthy will be primarily reviewing theatre productions in the Fairfield County and Western, CT regions.
Maegan Clearwood has been named as a contributing critic for Connecticut. Ms. Clearwood is the Literary Associate at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. Previous dramaturgy credits include: WSC Avant Bard:The Gospel at Colonus, TAME., Holiday Memories, A Midsummer Night's Dream; Pinky Swear Productions: Lizzie: The Musical; Rorschach Theatre: A Bid to Save the World; Source Festival: Static; Forum Theatre: World Builders; Olney Theatre Center: I and You, The Piano Lesson, The Tempest, Colossal. Her writing has been published on DC Theater Scene and Howlround.
