Ansel Elgort Accused of Sexually Assaulting Underage Girl
TW: The following post details of an alleged sexual assault.
Actor Ansel Elgort has been accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old in 2014. Elgort is known for a multitude of films, including The Fault in Our Stars and Baby Driver. The actor is currently set to star as Tony in Steven Spielberg's remake of West Side Story.
The woman named Gabby, who did not reveal her last name, tweeted a statement on Friday and claimed the actor, now 26, sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager. Gabby described being in pain and said, “I didn’t want to do it the only words that came out of his mouth were ‘we need to break you in.'”
The alleged abusive behavior began in 2014 and Gabby direct messaged Elgort letting him know that it would soon be her 17th birthday. She said he gave her access to his private Snapchat account where he requested nude photos of her.
Gabby further described him requesting a threesome with herself and one of her “dance friends,” who she said was also underage. She added there is “much more” to her story. “He made me think this is how sex was supposed to be. I WAS SO YOUNG AND HE KNEW THAT. He as well said stuff like, ‘you’re going to be such a beautiful young lady when you’re older.” I was f—ing 17,”
Elgort nor his representatives have released any statements or responded to any press requests.
These allegations certainly cast a cloud over the scheduled remake to be released this December. Interestingly enough, as we reported many times, the Broadway revival of the musical also had its issues with casting an actor accused of sexual misconduct.
