A Disneyland fireworks show is going viral for its music
Over the weekend, footage from a Disneyland fireworks show went viral not due to its spectacular visuals, but its music arrangement which is tugging the heartstrings of many a Disney and theatre fan.
Wondrous Journeys is a multimedia show that premiered on January 27 at Disneyland in honor of Disney's 100th anniversary. The show received critical acclaim from the guests for showcasing nearly all animated films made by Disney.
It features a montage of every film released by the studio over the years, which pays tribute to Disney as well as magical moments featuring characters from films, such as Encanto, Hercules, The Princess and the Frog, Frozen, and many other films.
The show also features special projection effects showcasing the tribute to the animation at Disney consisting of blank pieces of paper, pencil sketches, and transitions from black and white to finalized colors as well as featuring characters from Disney, such as Mickey Mouse, Bambi, Ariel, Mirabel, and Baymax. Just like in its previous predecessors, the multimedia effect stretches out to certain areas at Disneyland, such as Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, the façade of It's a Small World, and the Rivers of America.
But it’s not the visuals that have everyone talking; it’s the music. The show features an outstanding new recording of Disney favorites. At one magical point, we get a combination of songs from "‘Beauty & The Beast, ‘Moana’, Hercules’, and ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’. The result is nothing short of gorgeous. Listen for yourself.
It’s gotten quite the reaction on social media.
The music was arranged by Christopher Lennertz. He tweeted out praising the cast of singers which included a slew of Broadway favorites Shoshana Bean, Trevor Dion Nicholas, and Lena Hall as well as EJ Cardona, Rachel Potter and more.
Needless to say, if you love Disney or just incredible and creative music arrangements, you’ll want to get to Disneyland to see ‘Wondrous Journeys’ ASAP.
