Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman has confirmed his interest in a follow-up to the massively successful movie musical THE GREATEST SHOWMAN in a new interview.
Discussing the film's success and if he would be interested in starring in a sequel to the original big screen tuner, Jackman exclusively revealed to BBC Radio 5 this weekend, "If a genuine opportunity came up where it felt like the right thing to do, then yep, I'd get the top hat back out."
One of the biggest surprise box office hits of the last several Christmas seasons, THE GREATEST SHOWMAN set audiences' hearts alight in its 2017-18 theatrical run, raking in more than $430 million worldwide after initially receiving many unfavorable reviews and getting off to an inauspicious start. Additionally, the soundtrack album reached #1 on iTunes in more than 77 countries, selling nearly 5 million copies to date and introducing a modern standard in the soul-stirring anthem "This Is Me" while also scoring Grammy Award nominations for both "This Is Me" and the album itself.
Additionally, a Broadway adaptation of the property is in the works according to Jackman and director Michael Gracey.
