Complete Casting For WEST SIDE STORY Remake

Steven Spielberg's cinematic re-imagining of iconic 1957 musical WEST SIDE STORY is poised to begin filming later this year and complete casting has been announced this week.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN Tony Award nominee Mike Faist will portray Riff along with Ana Isabelle as Rosalia and Maddie Ziegler as one of the Jets.

Besides Faist and Ziegler, the Jets chorus includes Brianna Abruzzo, Kyle Allen, Kyle Coffman, Ben Cook, Harrison Coll, Kevin Csolak, Kellie Drobnick, Julian Elia, Myles Erlick, Leigh-Ann Esty, Sara Esty, John Michael Fiumara, Paloma Garcia-Lee, Garett Hawe, Patrick Higgins, Sean Harrison Jones, Eloise Kropp, Lauren Leach, Jess LeProtto, Skye Mattox, Ezra Menas, Adriana Pierce, Brittany Pollack, Daniel Patrick Russell, Talia Ryder, Jonalyn Saxer and Halli Toland.

Additionally, the full company of Sharks includes David Aviles Morales, Yesenia Ayala, María Alejandra Castillo, Annelise Cepero, Andrei Chagas, Jeanette Delgado, Kelvin Delgado, Gaby Diaz, Yurel Echezarreta, Adriel Flete, Carlos E. Gonzalez, David Guzman, Jacob Guzman, Ana Isabelle, Melody Martí, Ilda Mason, Juliette Feliciano Ortiz, Edriz E. Rosa Pérez, Maria Alexis Rodriguez, Julius Anthony Rubio, Carlos Sánchez Falú, Sebastian Serra , Gabriela Soto, Ricky Ubeda, Tanairi Vazquez, Jamila Velazquez, Isabella Ward and Ricardo Zayas.

All will be joining Ansel Elgort as Tony and 17-year-old newcomer Rachel Zegler as Maria along with SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL Tony Award nominee Ariana DeBose as Anita, BILLY ELLIOT: THE MUSICAL Tony Award winner David Alvarez as Bernardo and HAMILTON's Josh Andres Rivera as Chino. Additionally, Academy Award winner Rita Moreno will appear as new character, Valentina, an expanded version of the role of Doc.

WEST SIDE STORY begins filming this summer in New York City. No release date has been announced at this time.
