The 74th Tony Awards Will Be Postponed
The 2020 Tony Awards have officially been postponed due to the COVID-19 shutdowns. In a statement from the American Theatre Wing,
“The health and safety of the Broadway community, artists and fans are of the utmost importance to us. We will announce new dates and additional information once Broadway opens again. We are looking forward to celebrating Broadway and our industry when it is safe to do so.”
The awards were initially supposed to take place on June 7th at Radio City Music Hall. While it was too early to declare a clear frontrunner, many insiders had pegged Girl from North Country as an early favorite.
