Cast Set for Regional Premiere of "The Unpredictable Times" at Rise Above Performing Arts
Kevin Ray Johnson's (Porgy and Bess at The Metropolitan Opera), The Unpredictable Times will be making its Regional Premiere this June at Rise Above Performing Arts Summer Professional Theatre in Sarasota, Florida. The show will open on Friday, June 18th, and will run through Sunday, June 27th!
The coming-of-age drama will be co-directed by Johnson and Rise Above Performing Arts Artistic Director Jacob Ruscoe.
The Cast will feature Jonah McKinley as Brandon, Isabella Yoder as Nicole, Todd Bellamy II. as Jake, Leah Henry as Samantha, and Owen DeMaio as Carl.
Rachael Henry Johnson will serve as Production Stage Manager.
Understudies and additional creative and crew will be announced at a later date.
In the show, five friends reunite in their hometown of Champlin, Minnesota, after graduating college. They attempt to deal with unresolved issues that will challenge their lifelong friendships.
Readings and Workshops of The Unpredictable Times have been presented at Broadway's Hudson Theatre in their Dress Circle Lounge in 2018, which starred Brian Flores (Head Over Heels) and Savannah Frazier (Amazing Grace); at The Kennedy Center's 16th annual Page-to-Stage Festival; in 2017 at The Dixon Place Lounge, that starred Tony Award Nominee Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice, School of Rock) and Hillary Porter (A Bronx Tale); 2015 at Shetler Studios Penthouse 1, that starred Matt Shingledecker (Wicked), and Brian Charles Johnson (Spring Awakening); in 2014 which featured Sam Harvey (10th Anniversary Tour of School of Rock), and Nick Anastasia (International Tour of Hair); in 2013 at The Pier One Theatre in Alaska; in 2011 at The Directors Company Studio; a workshop production was performed at The Manhattan Repertory Theatre's 2011 Winterfest, and in 2010 at Artist Bloc in Washington DC.
