Port Perry, Ontario's Theatre on the Ridge announces its Summer 2021 Slate
The Box Office Is Open!
Live theatre returns to Port Perry this summer as Theatre on the Ridge presents their second Something From Nothing season.
We’re bringing three Canadian comedies to the outdoor stage in downtown Port Perry, a collection of Victorian plays from the past to Scugog Shores Museum and a return to our popular Pine Grove Plots historical walks.
Our summer company of artists feature familiar and new faces, and guest artists Amanda Jane Smith and James Dallas Smith. Amanda has previously appeared with Theatre on the Ridge as Sharon in The Valley (2019) and Veronica in God of Carnage (2015) and plays Maureen Poole in Cottagers and Indians. She is joined by James Dallas Smith playing Arthur Copper. In 2019, James was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore award for outstanding performance for his work in Soulpepper Theatre’s production of Almighty Voice and His Wife.
In addition to Cottagers and Indians, we are presenting The Ends of The Earth by Morris Panych and a new play by Trudee Romanek, created and workshopped with our summer ensemble. Rounding out the season are two historical offerings – ‘Plays From The Past’ and our own Pine Grove Plots by Graeme Powell.
The online box office is open now and all necessary Covid protocols will be maintained through the season to ensure that our artists and audiences remain safe, on and offstage. Theatre on the Ridge is proud to display the Safe Travels Stamp to reassure our patrons that they will always have an entertaining and safe experience, and our extensive Covid safety measures can be found on our website along with ticket sales information.
