Film adaptation of 'Clybourne Park' to star Sarah Paulson, Uzo Aduba & Anthony Mackie

‘Clybourne Park’ is being adapted into a film, according to a report in Deadline. The film, based on Bruce Norris' Pulitzer- and Tony-winning play, will star Broadway alum Sarah Paulson, Uzo Aduba, Anthony Mackie, and Nick Robinson. It will also feature Martin Freeman and Hillary Baack.

Pam MacKinnon, who helmed the play's 2010 Off-Broadway premiere and its 2012 Broadway transfer, will direct the film.

The two acts of the play are set fifty years apart. Act One takes place in 1959, as white community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family. Act Two is set in the same house in the present day, as the now predominantly African-American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification.

The play opened on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre on April 19, 2012 for a 16-week limited engagement.

It was nominated for four Tony Awards including Best Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for Jeremy Shamos and MacKinnon for Best Director.
